The only child of two ocean-navigating parents, Nato grew up on a Thai sailing junk on the island of Bonaire. Between raising her pet goat, Petunia and exploring the ocean's depths, Nato became fluent in Dutch, Papiamentu & the sea.

At age 13, Nato moved stateside where she instantly longed for the excitement and energy that had characterized her island home. She soon found herself writing for Sport Diver, a scuba diving magazine, where she traveled the world on countless adventures such as visiting Bedouins in the Egyptian desert and scuba diving the World War II wrecks in the Solomon Islands.

This journalism experience inspired Nato to begin documenting her personal travels with a camera, as well as with the written word. While studying Commercial Photography at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA, Nato still managed to squeeze in assignments ranging from shooting Great Whites in Mexico and erupting volcanoes on the island of Saba.

Nato currently resides Greenpoint, Brooklyn exploring many mediums of photography and videography.

She has recently launched www.natotukephoto.com where she offers her photography services shooting Wedding, Engagement and Boudoir Photography.
